R Kelly’s Sex Planet
As R Kelly returns with a song that compares intercourse to topping the charts, it’s worth looking back to his jaw-dropping 2007 song ‘Sex Planet’ which uses takes the space as a metaphor for sex theme and runs with it. Sample lyrics- “We’ll take a trip to planet Uranus”. Oh dear..

Avatar trailer released
The world got its first sneak peek at James Cameron’s much-anticipated CGI-heavy space action blockbuster last week and collectively, the general consensus seems to be – disappointment. One astute web commenter compared it to Fern Gully for grownups..

Videos of The Week: Patrick Wolf loses it onstage

, , No Comment

Patrick Wolf loses it onstage
The flamboyant London singer lost it at a German festival recently. The PA cuts off and Wolf proceeds to abuse a woman side of stage by throwing a mic, a stand and a stool in her direction topping off the spoiled tirade by spitting at her before departing.

Microsoft’s Waterslide viral
An effectively doctored Youtube video which apparently shows the test slide of the “biggest waterslide on earth” and a subsequent improbable landing into a small blow-up pool about 60 metres away is impressive but fake.

Calvin tweets his spleen

What a busy time it is for Calvin Harris. Hit singles, 8 successful JamTV episodes, the world’s first human synthesizer, regular high-profile festival slots and a new album Ready For The Weekend released only last week. So, you would think that Harris has little to complain about. Wrong.

Ready For The Weekend has been the recipient of generally negative reviews (Day and Night’s own John Meagher gave it one star) and Mr. Harris couldn’t take it any more. Rather than call up his mother for a boo-hoo or have a quiet mumble about the music press at home, he turned, in a fit of anger, to Twitter for an all-capitals Kanye-style rant: (more…)
