The Irish love a good laugh as much as the next person. This small island has bred a great many well known comedians and popular sit-coms, such as Father Ted. More or less all of the greats started their careers performing stand up in some of Ireland’s numerous comedy clubs, many of which are still entertaining the masses today. Here are some of the best!
The International Bar, Dublin
The only club in Dublin boasting seven nights of comedy a week, The International Bar is the place to go for a laugh if you’re only visiting the city briefly. For visitors to the country, they host “Ireland, a survivors guide” Tuesdays through to Saturday at 1pm throughout summer. This hilarious guide to Irish people and culture will have you in stitches!
The Stag’s Head, Dublin
Sunday and Mondays night’s are comedy nights at this fantastic pub. The comedy crunch is free to enter, with a top line up and free ice cream. Get there early though as it soon fills up!
The Pavilion Bar, Belfast

Home of “Ireland’s Smallest Comedy Club”, the Dew Drop is a fantastic little venue. Offering big talent every Thursday, there’s even free pizza during the interval!
