The best music on the web this week.

Toro Y Moi
South Carolina man Chaz Bundick’s project displays a dizzying array of styles on his debut album Causers of This. From glo-fi ambience to keyboard-led dance-pop to bumpin’ hip-hop jams, it’s exhilarating and it’s out now digitally.

M.I.A. debuts new song via Twitter
In response to the New York Times declaring Sri Lanka one of the best places to travel in 2010, M.I.A. debuted a homemade video of the Rusko-produced Space Oddysey on Twitter in response.

The Horrors remix Florence and the Machine
Proving that Florence Welch’s music is the perfect remix material once again, Tom from goth-rockers The Horrors twists Hurricane Drunk into a magically atmospheric interpretation.

The Ambience Affair debut material
Taken from the Dublin band’s second EP out this month, Devil In The Detail showcases the duo’s penchant for rich instrumentation and the furthering of their unique folk-rock style. The Patterns EP is out tomorrow.

Band of Blogs: Anders Ponders, Bon Iver, Lonelady, Remixes of 2009

The best music on the web this week.

Anders Ponders
Imagine a cross between a viola-playing Final Fantasy and Belle & Sebastian and you’ve got Anders somewhat sussed out. Listen to his debut album Nodes of Overtones on DayAndNightMag.ie this week.

Bon Iver goes back to school
The bearded troubadour recently rejoined his first high school band – the Eau Claire Memorial Jazz Band, in order to raise funds for their annual trip to New York. The resulting concert of Bon Iver and Duke Ellington songs has now been released on iTunes. Listen to a song via I Guess I’m Floating.

Lonelady
Warp Records will release Lonelady’s debut album Nerve Up in February. Inspired by post-punk angular riffs, 80s pop and sounding like a combination of late ’80s/early ’90s female singers (Alanis Morrisette, Tori Amos, PJ Harvey), LoneLady is an intriguing proposition. Get the single for free.

Band of Blogs: Muse = Queen?

Muse = Queen?
Muse have made the next logical step from their epic bombastic rock to Queen-style OTT ballads if the ridiculously-titled United States Of Eurasia Parts 1-6 from their new album is an indication..

The Horrors remix Memory Cassette
It’s been a good week for the former panto-goth rockers. A Mercury nomination for the excellent album Primary Colours and this uncharacteristic spacey dance remix for good measure.

New Beastie Boys track
On the same day that the Beasties’ Adam Yauch announced he will undergo cancer treatment, Too Many Rappers from the forthcoming Hot Sauce Committee Pt.1 with Nas as a guest appeared. Still as good as ever.

Jay-Z with Kanye and Rihanna
The Hova’s upcoming Blueprint 3 album has started to leak material – this time by The Roots’ talisman Questlove via Twitter. ‘Run This Town’ is as pop as Jay-Z gets.
