Bon Iver, Solid Gold, Megafaun, P.O.S. and a slew of Minneapolis musicians have united under Ryan Olsen’s supergroup to play soft rock music directly inspired by 10CC’s I’m Not In Love. It sounds dubious but judging by The Gaudy Side of Town, the album Relayted, out next month is worth investigation.

Dylan was joined by comedian Steve Merchant on his radio show recently and the two rapped through LL Cool J’s hip-hop classic Mama Said Knock You Out.

Imagine a banjo-led, Mogwai-influenced band with a singer who has a Sufjan Stevens-esque timbre and you’re almost there. The New York band’s debut Weather Vanes was quietly released in August but has been gathering pace ever since.

This could nearly be a weekly feature with the frequency that US news presenter Glenn Beck loses his mind. This time, Beck acts like a complete spoiled baby when questioned about healthcare. That Beck has his own TV and radio show frightens me.
