Bon Iver, Solid Gold, Megafaun, P.O.S. and a slew of Minneapolis musicians have united under Ryan Olsen’s supergroup to play soft rock music directly inspired by 10CC’s I’m Not In Love. It sounds dubious but judging by The Gaudy Side of Town, the album Relayted, out next month is worth investigation.

Bob Dylan’s gonna knock you out
Dylan was joined by comedian Steve Merchant on his radio show recently and the two rapped through LL Cool J’s hip-hop classic Mama Said Knock You Out.
Delorean
Sunshine dance-pop with a Balearic twist from Barcelona, Delorean will release the superb vitamin C hit of debut Subiza in June. Pre-order it from Matador Records and you can get a free download of the album right now. More labels should do this please.

Two Door Cinema Club remixed
The Twelves’ disco-funk remix of the Bangor band’s Something Good Can Work has been climbing up the blog charts for the last two weeks.
Imagine a banjo-led, Mogwai-influenced band with a singer who has a Sufjan Stevens-esque timbre and you’re almost there. The New York band’s debut Weather Vanes was quietly released in August but has been gathering pace ever since.
http://www.myspace.com/thefreelancewhales

Hurts
A UK electro-pop duo who hark back to the ’80s unconditionally (including semi-dodgy sax solo) and have been championed by the likes of PopJustice. Wonderful Life is their debut single.
Best Coast
Bethany Cosentino’s lo-fi project inspired by her hometown of California has already gifted those who were paying attention with the 3 minute headrush of When I’m With You.
BBC Sound of 2010
The BBC’s annual most-promising bands has an air of inevitability to it since many of these bands have been on music blogs and elsewhere this year but the list includes some surprise inclusions in Joy Orbision, Gold Panda and Two Door Cinema Club.
“Tesco’s slogan changed overnight from Every little helps to We control every aspect of your life.” Armando Ianucci imagines a world where Tesco takes over the world and goes to war with Denmark. Hilarious.

“Get off my phone you little pinhead!”
This could nearly be a weekly feature with the frequency that US news presenter Glenn Beck loses his mind. This time, Beck acts like a complete spoiled baby when questioned about healthcare. That Beck has his own TV and radio show frightens me.

Two Door Cinema Club — I Can Talk
It’s always good to see Irish bands do well abroad and this Belfast trio who are signed to cool French label Kitsune are doing just that. Check out their newest video which is featuring heavily on music blogs this week and is as cracking tune to boot.

Analogue episode 1
Former Dublin-based music magazine Analogue has launched a new video series on the web. The first proper episode features interviews with the Kronos Quartet, a performance from So Cow and the premiere of a music video for Patrick Kelleher.
Straight outta Noo Yawk, this 8-piece danceable indie-disco band have some of the most immediately accessible tunes going especially ’15 to 20′.
http://www.myspace.com/phenomenalhandclap

The Hollows
Beautifully slow and atmospheric tunes from a Dublin duo in the form of new EP Broken Notes For Winter Homes. Great headphones music.
http://www.myspace.com/thehollowsie

Akron/Family’s “The River”
Taken from the new album Set ‘Em Wild, Set ‘Em Free, “The River” is a uplifting slice of American folk-pop from these Pennsylvanian natives.
http://tinyurl.com/akronriver

Two Door Cinema Club
This Bangor three-piece are showing up other bands by working with French producers and crafting superbly catchy tunes like “Something Good Can Work”.
